Texas Chainsaw 3D part 1

I'm not a movie critic, reviewer or anything like that. But I have to mention the TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D movie. It won't be out for at least several weeks over here in Belgium so I can't give my opinion about the movie itself. But I have this feeling.... As a huge fan of the original I gotta say I was excited to hear about a "continuation' of the original '74 movie even though Hooper's 1986 sequel will be far more superiour then anything texas chainsaw related that got made after that and i'm very sure it will whoop this latest installment's ass as well. And since this morning I'm more then sure. A fellow fan of the first two movies has called it "Embarrasing" And by the rest of the reviews i've read so far i'm starting to feel bad for getting exited about this one in the first place. And yeah, even by the looks from the trailer, it's safe to say that it won't be one of my favorite movies. A continuation of the original Texas Chainsaw MASSACRE does sound like it could be a winner. So much interesting stuff going on in that one. The three brothers, (and another one in a veteran's hospital) The farmhouse, The BBQ shack, the graverobbings, the bizar statues, furniture made from human bones, Grandpa and Grandma...The Texas setting...And also a few of the smaller details, The cars behind the house, the abandoned campsite, the watch nailed to a tree, Sally Hardesty and that overall bizar atmosphere...ah there's a lot. Also the fact that Leatherface is just one of the boys, one of the brothers who happens to wear a mask and stuff, he's not Freddy or Jason...he's a weirdo who happens to smash your head in or cuts you up with a chainsaw. The family is in the meat business, what do you want? Now with this new one it seems as they made Leatherface this horror icon who stands on his own, that's bummer number one. Me personally, never saw Leatherface as the main villain in the first two movies. Drayton, the Hitchhiker and rest of their psycho gang were as much or even more of a threat as the big guy. But like I said, I haven't seen the movie yet, hope to do so very soon to get it over with! Oh yeah...here're a few more bummers so far: -3D -The goddamn title!!
