Disney Buys Lucasfilm New Star Wars Coming In 2015

 Disney announced Tuesday that it is acquiring Lucasfilm LTD, including the Star Wars franchise, for $4.05 billion in stock and cash.In a press release announcing the acquisition, Disney announced that Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for a release date in 2015 and that “more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.”

On a conference call, Disney CEO Bob Iger said that in addition to Episode 7, episodes 8 and 9 are also in the works. The goal, Iger said, was to “release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years.” This is Disney’s third major brand and studio acquisition in the last ten years. In 2006, the company acquired Pixar for $7.4 billion. In 2009, Disney acquired Marvel for $4 billion.

Lucasfilm co-chairman Kathleen Kennedy will become president of Lucasfilm under Disney and serve as Star Wars brand manager. George Lucas will serve as a creative consultant.
The other subsdiaries of Lucasfilm, LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic and SKywalker Sound are also moving to Disney. The plan is to keep all Lucasfilm employees at its current San Francisco headquarters.

The X Factor’s Top 16 acts will perform live for the first time on a special two-hour-and-seven-minute show Wednesday, Oct. 31 (8:00-10:07 PM live/ PT tape-delayed) on FOX.






 Hosts Khloé Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez will take The X Factor stage alongside judges Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and L.A. Reid. Then, on Thursday, Nov. 1 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top Finalists will be revealed, and return the following week to face America’s vote.

RoboCop Set Photos

RoboCop Set Photos Offer Detailed Look at Murphy's S.W.A.T. Suit  A few more RoboCop set photos have trickled in featuring Joel Kinnaman in his black S.W.A.T. amour. While these are pretty similar to the ones we've seen in the recent past, we do get a closer look at some of the detail that has gone into this cyber-costume, and we can clearly see the OmniCorp logo imprinted on his chest. 

José Padilha continues to shoot this reboot in Canada, swapping Detroit for the cold streets of Toronto. Look on as RoboCop takes his futuristic motorcycle to the streets, then read on for some quick and interesting news about the movie's shooting location!

Related news, there's been a mild controversy over the fact that RoboCop, which is set in Detroit, is shooting in Toronto. Well, now, it has been announced that the cast and crew are heading to Michigan after all, having been approved for $294,000 in incentives on $1 million in anticipated in-state spending. Like the original, parts of the movie, mostly exterior shots, will actually be shot in Detroit, with the rest of this rebooted adventure continuing to film in Canada.

RoboCop comes to theaters February 7th, 2014 and stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael Keaton, Jay Baruchel, Michael K. Williams. The film is directed by José Padilha.

CW Series Arrow References Nightwing's City Bludhaven

Could we see Nightwing ( Richard Grayson) appearing in an upcoming episode of CW's new hit show, Arrow?

Arrow does have a Christopher Nolan-like approach to it, and Nightwing would fit in perfectly with the show as Nightwing isn't a super powered hero. The latest promo for Arrow reveals a reference to Bludhaven, which is the city where Nightwing fights crime, and is a neighbor to Gotham City.


While it could just be an teaser for fans of the DC Comics, this would be pretty cool if Nightwing became a reoccurring character. Rumor has it that  even Batman might show up , with some theorizing that John Barrowman might be portraying Bruce Wayne. Arrow airs Wednesday at 8pm ET on the CW.

Iron Man Rise of Technovore

Iron Man has made his way to Japan before, so having him revisit the anime genre was something the creative team really wanted to do, since there was a lot of character development to play around with.

 “Iron Man is a natural fit for anime,” Bradner elaborates. “It’s a medium that’s comfortable with telling more mature stories. There’s a breadth and depth to both the storytelling and characters, and though [he] works great in our kid-targeted animation, there’s a whole universe of stories out there. It’s [also] nice not having to limit ourselves. That, and it’s always exciting to see the beautiful spin Madhouse gives things.”

With the announcement of “Iron Man: Rise of Technovore” also came the first details on some of Tony’s co-stars in the movie, including Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye, the Punisher and Ezekiel Stane.

Nevertheless, she continues on her own to discover that Iris is hiding a family secret, and needs Vincent's help. JT is concerned that Vincent risks exposure to Murifield by helping Cat, leading Cat to work out a way to communicate with Vincent without seeking him out.

Looking into a suspicious murder case, Oliver realizes an innocent man, Peter Declan (guest star Lane Edwards), was framed by one of the targets on his list. As Arrow, he asks Laurel to help prove Declan’s innocence.

Meanwhile, Walter (guest star Colin Salmon) asks one of his employees, Felicity Smoak (guest star Emily Rickards), to look into a $2.6 million withdrawal that Moira (Susanna Thompson) made without his knowledge.

Captain America 2 Winter Soldier To Feature  Crossbones. Crossbones could be played by Frank Grillo. Grillo added fuel to previous speculation that he was actually testing to play Crossbones. Over the weekend, radio host Matthew Aaron spilled the beans as writing, "Once again, just wanted to tell you and I'll be talking about it all week... Frank Grillo has tested for Crossbone in the new Marvel movies."

Marvel Studios hasn't said anything to clarify the swirling report. For those who are unfamiliar with Crossbones, the supervillain, who is also known as Brock Rumlow, usually appears as a henchman of the Red Skull. Though he doesn't have any superhuman powers, Crossbones is known as the world's best hand-to-hand combatants. He's also the one who carries out the assassination of Captain America in Marvel comics.

"Captain America 2" will begin filming in spring 2013 in Cleveland. Plot details are still kept under very tight wraps, but the film is already scheduled to open wide in the U.S. on April 4, 2014. Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie are all confirmed to star in the much-awaited movie.

Mark Wahlberg Might Star In Transformers 4 .There has been casting rumors flying around about Transformers 4 ever since it was reported in February that the sequel will feature an all new cast. Today, we have word that Mark Wahlberg is in early talks to star. While no story details have been confirmed, this new action-adventure will reportedly center on an adult man (Mark Wahlberg) and his teenage son, with the younger character to be the focus of future sequels. This would seem to contradict the rumor that surfaced last week, which indicated the male and female lead will be a high school senior and her race-car driving boyfriend. 

Ehren Kruger (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers: Dark of the Moon) wrote the screenplay for Michael Bay to direct from. Mark Wahlberg recently starred in Pain and Gain for the director, alongside Dwayne Johnson. It isn't known when production will begin on Transformers 4, although a June 29, 2014 release date has already been set by Paramount.
