I won't make it a thing to come post here all the time a celebrity or someone from the movies died, but Dan O'Bannon deserves atleast a writing attempt!
I'm not much of an Alien fan but Return of the Living Dead messed me up good back in the mid eightees. Who cares about the running zombies, this movie is fucking scarey! I still think it is and I know cause I watch it atleast twice a year. The film had the right humor, the dialogues, especially in the first 15 minutes of the movies is classic stuff and I still can't believe not many people, atleast the most I know in person who're into these kinda movies haven't noticed the Burt and Ernie thing!
Return of the Living Dead was also the very first movie I had on a VHS tape. I even provided the box with some custom artwork I tried to copy from the Soundtrack album sleeve, so we all know the artwork looked like a art project made by one of those handicapped people. Wish I still had it though...but with moving all the time, things get lost from time to time.
Also, when the movie came out, we lived about a one minute walk from the old cemetary and I was real glad when we finally moved away from there. Again, it's a movie that actually scared me, right up there with The Exorcist, The Evil Dead and the Michael Jackson Thriller video. Man, I ever mentioned I owned one of those red leather (plastic) jackets as seen in that video? Yeah, I got beat up alot in those days.
Anyway...Dan O'Bannon, the man who managed to scare me as a kid and responsible for my Linnea Quigley obsession, making me discover The Cramps, The Damned and last but not least ROKY ERICKSON!
Salute!
ps, he wrote Blue Thunder too, what a movie!

Youtube stuff...
I've been spending a lotta time on the floor with a big box of vhs tapes, a vcr, a pack of marlboros and a dvd recorder. The result...tears from laughter and some new hit videos over on youtube.
Maybe some of that stuff won't be as funny for those who weren't there but it doesn't matter. I've also uploaded some ancient El Guapo STuntteam live footage and there's plenty more to come.
Here's one of my personal favorites from 2003. It's from a show at the Lintfabriek, the number one venue in Belgium. Ofcourse the place is closed now. We opened for an amazing band from Lawrence Kansas, (that's a place over in the United States) called Cocknoose and I believe it was our very first time on national prime time television, so we figured we better try and impress the viewers at home. Not sure if it worked though.

I never killed a woman before...
...but I know how it feels.
I can't get enough of this band ever since the early 80's when I bought my first Iron Maiden record. I can't say i'm the biggest fan of any of their releases after Somewhere in Time but everything untill that one, especially the Di'Anno years...is some brilliant fucking shit!

That's Armageddon!
Here's the "Year of the Panther" album by that little musical combo we had for some years. I believe it's from 2002 and was our second release on the Sounds of Subterrania label from Germany. I still think this record kicks the ass of all bands coming from Belgium. As a non musician in the band I can say that.
1. Deathcheaters
2. Trailblazer
3. Firebird Tornado
4. That's Armageddon!
5. Graveyard (ain't nothing mama)
6. Motel Hell
7. Tight Spot
8. Eleanor
9. Eye of the Panther
10. Cried your Name
11. Last House on the Left
12. Born to Win, Live to Lose
13. The Lonesome Trail of the Leprechaun

Rabid Dogs
A little Mario Bava movie I discovered only about year or so ago and it knocked my shit upside down! I think i've seen the movie a dozen of times since. Everything is just perfect about this one. Ultra grim and unsettling euro exploitation. Instead of attempting to write a pointless essay that would go nowhere, i'll just post the trailer and link to the amazing score by Stelvio Cipriani instead.

Some random tracks...
I've said it before and I'll say it again. A good score is what makes a movie for atleast 60%. The reason why George Romero's last three Dead films won't have a rabid following as his three 'DEAD' classics is because of the shit 'horror movie music' is Land, Diary and from the clip i've seen recently, his new one too. Don't get me wrong, I won't ever talk shit on George Romero, in a perfect world, we'd be best friends.
Anyways, I've uploaded a few theme songs and movie music from the golden age of cinema, the 70's and early 80's. Some Italian stuff, some American. Some tracks come straight of a vhs tape, but the quality is fine! A few come from compilations I found on such terrific blogs as The Green Inferno.
Go get em, these are some good ones!
(I can't say for sure if they will appear on your computer in this order though, you'll figure it out!)
-Hell of the Living Dead - Goblin and D. Dell 'Orso (vhs)
-Mad Man - Gary Sales and Stephen Horelick (vhs)
-Last House on the Left - Urban Snatch - David Hess
-La Via Della Droga - Seq. 10 - Goblin
-Hitch Hike - Violazione Violenta - Ennio Morricone
-Gator - Ballad of Gator Mcklusky - Jerry Reed
-Stunts - Daredevil, Gonna Make an Angel out of you - Charlee
-Vigilante - Warning - Fred Williamson
-Mannaja - Like a Snake - Guido and Maurizio De Angelis
-Grindhouse - Funky Fanfare - Keith Mansfield
-Death Promise - ??- Vhs plus some dialogue
-Pieces - ??
-Maniac - Subway Terror - Jay Chattaway
-Mark Il Poliziotto - La Fine di Cobb (alt, Version) - Stevio Cipriani
-Street Law - Goodbye My Friend - Guido and Maurizio De Angelis

If you're lying, I'll be back

Two personal favorites of mine. First up, the notorious early 80's vigilante sleaze fest, "The Exterminator". Couple of great songs in this one. The opening song "Heal it" by Roger Bowling, ofcourse, "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps and "Theme for an American Hero" by Chip Taylor.
I can't say i'm a big disco fan, but they work great in movies like this. To grab the three songs, scroll down.
Second one, it's kinda like The Exterminator meets Maniac. Another great Exploitation/horror movie that got it's well deserved attention in the "Nightmare USA" book. Don't Go in the House. So far I found three of the disco tunes. Boogie Lightning by L'Electrique ( the movie version and a longer version) and Late Night Surrender by Jeree Palmer.

Hey, don't give me any shit!
Ah...The wonderfullworld of 'Ozploitation'. Getting alot of well deserved attention after the release of Mark Hartley's fantastic documentary 'Not Quite Hollywood'.
This one right here is probably one of the very best coming from down under. Directed by Brian Trenchard Smith with an all star cast including George Lazenby, Jimmy Wang Yu, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Roger Ward, Ros Spiers and special appearances by the stunmen, ofcourse, Grant Page, Max Aspin and Peter Armstrong. Anyways, if you read this far, you probably know all about the movie and it's really amazing score by Noel Quinlan and don't forget the hit theme song "Sky High" by Jigsaw. The highlight, at least for me is a tune called 'A man is a Man is Man'. It took me a long time to finally track this one down.
Here's two tracks of the record, to get the complete score...click the link below.

Gone in 60 Seconds

I almost weeped when I heard of the remake and turned it of five minutes in. I felt even worse after buying the re-mastered release of the original. What happened to the original tunes? The Phil Kachaturian songs that were perfect in H.B Halicki's classic, the mother of all car chase movies, Gone in 60 Seconds. I better hold on to my old ex rental tapes. Anyways, here is the tracklist of the original songs. To get em, click the link below.
1-Big Town, Big City (New Version)
2-Big Town, Big City (Movie Version)
3-Charriot Ride
4-Gone in 60 Seconds
5-Hope the Man Doesn't Catch Me
6-Lois Lane Blues
